Merrill Lynch Creates Guide To Help Manage Wealth


Merrill Lynch’s private banking and investment group is creating a guide to help wealthy clients manage their money. According to Business Insider, there are only four choices you can make with your money. You can spend it, maintain a steady level, preserve it by keeping its value keep up with inflation or invest it. The guide recommends aiming for a more precise goal that would allow you to fix spending habits. It’s not whether you can or cannot afford something but whether you should or not should buy it.

  • Tesla Shares Sink Below 2 Year Low

    According to Markets Insider, Tesla shares sank below a 2 year low after Wall Street analysts released scathing research on the electric automaker. Analysts with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citi issued reports that were critical of Tesla's diminishing stock price amid a slew of investor concerns. On the year, Tesla shares have dropped more than 40-percent, but within the last three weeks the electric automaker's stock plummeted 20-percent. On the day for May 22nd, Tesla shares dropped another 4-percent, falling below the $200 mark. Tesla's stock hit a session low of $192.85, which is their worst trading price since December of 2016.

  • Ford Will Cut 10% Of It's Global Workforce

    Ford is firing 7,000 white-collar workers worldwide. Business Insider reports that's about 10% of Fords global salaried workforce. This is all part of Ford's restructuring plan. The major revamp had been underway since last year. Ford will save about $600 million per year by eliminating bureaucracy and increasing the number of workers reporting to each manager. In the US, about 2,300 jobs will be cut through buyouts and layoffs.

  • China's Retaliation Against US Tariffs

    According to Business Insider, China's retaliation against US tariffs will force retailers to make tough choices. China has decided to retaliate against the US' tariff hike from 10% to 25% on $200 billion of Chinese goods by taking $60 billion worth of US goods that previously had tariffs of 5-10% and placing those items into four new tariff groups: 25%, 20%, 10%, and 5%. Higher tariffs on US goods are bad news for both Chinese consumers and US businesses that sell in China.
