Collins, a key swing vote on the tax package, said media coverage has been ?extremely discouraging? and ?unbelievably sexist." She went on to accuse reporters of ignoring her influence over the final legislation and unfairly criticizing her efforts to pass stabilization bills for Obamacare.   • White House Wants Healthcare Vote This Summer

    According to a Trump administration official, The White House is hoping to kick start its stalled legislative agenda with congressional action on healthcare reform this summer. That should clear the way for lawmakers to start work on a major tax bill after Labor Day. The official said senators have made progress in crafting their own version of healthcare reform and that the chamber will move ahead with legislation ahead of lawmakers' August recess. The administration would prefer the effort did not add to the national debt, since its top priority would be cutting taxes.
