The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors say the death toll jumped from 60 to 100 when 40 bodies were recovered from the River Nile. According to CNN, the victims were killed in the military crackdown in the capital Khartoum. In a grisly discovery, scores of bodies were found dumped in the river by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The head of Sudan's ruling military council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has ordered an investigation into the deaths.

    CNN reports At least two protestors have died and several others been injured injured in Sudan, after the military opened fire to break up a sit-in. Protestors had congregated outside the Defense Ministry in Sudan's capital Khartoum, opposing the interim military council that has ruled the country since a military coup in April. The casualties were hit by "live bullets" on Monday. The committee said security forces have surrounded the hospitals to which the wounded and dead bodies were taken.
